School Counseling
The mission of the CCA School Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive, developmental counseling program addressing the academic and personal/social needs of all students in grades 6-12, with an emphasis on college readiness. In partnership with CCA teachers, parents/guardians, and administrators, the counseling office works to facilitate opportunities for students to acquire the educational and social competencies necessary for their chosen college and career.
The CCA Counseling Department's goal is to ensure that every student feels safe and supported, while teaching and modeling Christian values. Supporting the academic development and upholding the highest academic standards is a top priority. However, the social/emotional development is also imperative, especially during such formative years in a young person's life. Delivery of services is provided through multiple avenues, including individual counseling, small group, and classroom guidance lessons.
College Planning
The Chapelgate College Counseling Office exists to walk along side students and families throughout the entire college process and to individually create college lists based on student's interests and academic records. We proudly place 100% of each graduating class into the college that best fits each student.
The college application process kicks off during a student's junior year when our college counselor meets with the class and parents as a whole to give a bird's eye view of what to expect in the next year in regards to college searching. Each family is given the opportunity to have a private meeting with our college counselor to create a list of "best fit" schools and to offer guidance on scholarship search and senior course selection. This meeting also includes a transcript review, SAT/ACT score review and planning, and graduation course requirement audit. At the beginning of senior year, students and parents are given hands on guidance on the application process.
